Sousse is well connected with a lot of cities. You can travel by a louage here from cities like Monastir, Tunis and El Jem. There is also a train which connects Monastir and Sousse. It is up to you what mode of transport you choose to take but don’t worry it is really easy to do and there are plenty of options during the day.

1. Sousse Medina

The heart of the medina reveals the Great Mosque, an architectural phenomenon dating back to the 9th century. In the souks you can find crafts, spices, and textiles, this is a great place to do some souvenir shopping!
2. Sousse Rabat
The Rabat was constructed in the 8th century, the Ribat initially served as a military outpost, strategically positioned to guard against invasions. Its formidable walls and watchtowers offer panoramic views of Sousse and the azure expanse of the Mediterranean Sea. The ribat has hosted Islamic scholars and Sufi mystics who sought solace within its austere confines. The simplicity of its design features a central courtyard surrounded by small cells. Today, the Ribat stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
3. Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum is located within the medina, this museum has an impressive collection of artefacts that span various periods. The collection ranges from the Phoenician and Roman periods to the Islamic era. You can see exhibits featuring statues, mosaics, pottery, and other archaeological finds that illuminate the cultural, artistic, and technological achievements of the region. One of the museum’s highlights is its display of intricate Roman mosaics, revealing the artistic brilliance. The entrance fee costs 10 TND (€3.00).
