How to get to Boquete?

If you are travelling from Panama City you will need to catch a bus from Albrook bus station to David bus station. From there you can take another bus to Boquete. The bus from David costs $2.
 
If you’re travelling from Bocas Del Toro, then there are lots of tourist shuttles available that go directly to Boquete. These shuttles often include a boat trip back to the mainland in the price which is $30.
 
You can book in advance with HelloTravel Panama or wait until you arrive in Bocas Del Toro. Here there are plenty of companies offering transportation between these two places.

Top things to see in Boquete:

Volcano Baru National Park
Volcano Baru stands at an impressive height of 3,474m, making it the highest point in Panama. It is the 12th-highest peak in Central America. Also, it’s one of the only places in the world where you can see the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans simultaneously.
 
The volcano has 7 craters and several different hiking trails you can take to see them. It is best to go with a guide as you do not want to get lost. Keep in mind that some of the hikes are quite challenging.
 
The best time to head up to the peak is for sunset. This way you will see the vibrant colourful sky as well as breathtaking views over the volcano and the national park. You can also visit the coffee plantations that are present here. The high altitude provides the right conditions for coffee to be grown.

Lookout Point
Just a short 20-minute walk from the centre of Boquete following one of the trails you will discover the most fabulous lookout point over Boquete. Here you can see stunning views of the town as well views over the magnificent Volcano Baru.
 
It is quite a challenging walk as it is uphill for the whole way but the views are truly worth it. For the best experience, do this walk in the early morning or late afternoon when the midday heat has subsided.

Boquete Park
Boquete’s Park is a delightful place to immerse yourself in a bit of nature and soak up the beautiful scenery Boquete has to offer. The park showcases a variety of flower species and wildlife. You can see as well a pond where you can feed the birds. Additionally, you can try to spot the fish in the fast-flowing river. This is a popular spot among American expats so a great place to meet fellow foreigners like yourself.

The flower garden in Boquete is somewhat an unusual garden with its vibrant and intricately patterned flowers.It also has hedges in the shape of butterflies and plastic giant flamingos dotted around the garden. There is also colourful benches along the side of the garden where you can enjoy the views of the incredible Volcano Baru and watch the tranquil river flow through this splendid town. This is a perfect stop for a few photos and to admire the brilliant nature and artistic craftsmanship on display.
