How to get here

If you are travelling from Managua then head to UCA bus terminal and take a chicken bus to Rivas. This should cost 110 NIO (€2.70). From Rivas bus station take another bus to San Juan Del Sur. This will cost 30-40 NIO (€0.75-1).
 
If you are travelling from Ometepe then take the ferry back to San Jorge and from there take a bus from the bus station to Rivas and then another bus from Rivas to San Juan Del Sur.

The beaches have golden sands and tranquil waters. Playa Maderas is renowned for its consistent waves, perfect for both beginners and seasoned surfers. You can buy your tickets either on the day or purchase them in advance from Pachamama. Hostel. It will cost $35 – I know it is pricey but it is so much fun and a great way to make friends! You can purchase them on the day from Pachamama Hostel starting from 10 am and they don’t usually sell out so don’t worry.
